Mr. Patrick Kamenyi Head of Capacity Building, represented the MSEA CEO Henry Rithaa during the event. The CoP, a collaborative platform designed to unite various stakeholders, is dedicated to addressing the pressing skills development challenges faced in Kenya today. The primary mission of the Cop is to enhance youth employ-ability, promote lifelong learning, and foster sustainable sociology-economic growth. MSEA’s involvement in the CoP is significant, especially as it is part of the CoP secretariat. In this role, MSEA is instrumental in guiding the strategic direction, ensuring effective implementation, and maintaining the sustainability of skills development initiatives across the nation. By fostering an environment where best practices, innovative solutions, and effective policies are shared, particularly within the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, MSEA contributes to creating a more robust and responsive education and training system in Kenya.

These efforts are intricately aligned with Kenya’s Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), which prioritizes key sectors such as Agriculture, the MSME Economy, Housing and Settlement, Healthcare, and the Digital Superhighways and Creative Economy. Labour and employment are identified as crucial enablers for these sectors, making the work of the CoP not just relevant but essential for the nation’s long-term development and prosperity. The launch event also featured insightful contributions from notable guest speakers, including PS Industry Dr. Juma Mukhwana, DG/CEO TVETA Dr. Kipkirui Langat, and Chief Technical Advisor from the International Labour Organization (ILO), Ms. Caroline Njuki. Their presence underscored the importance of the CoP’s work and the collective effort required to drive Kenya’s skills development agenda forward.
