KISII NEWS: COLLABORATION AND PARTNERSHIP TO EMPOWER MSES WITH COMMON USER FACILITIES

MSEA in collaboration with Kisii County collaborated and partnered to empower MSEs with common user facilities to boost business productivity. The  common user facilities and machinery issuance event was coordinated by Kisii Enterprise Development Officer ( EDO) Cliffe Agwata accompanied by Infrastructure and Innovation Directorate  Assistant Director Enterprise Director Muriithi Muriuki  in collaborated with Bonchari Constituency member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Charles Onchoke and the NGAO office. During the event, several machinery and common user machines where handover to various associations in Bonchari Constituency. These machines included a Transformer welding machine, Mig welding machine, Gasoline car wash Machine, and High Pressure car washing machine and 135 bars.The recipients included the following groups:-

  1. Suneka Juakali Association
  2. Bonchari Subcounty Bodaboda Riders and Owners Association
  3. Bonchari Youth Traders Association
  4. Bomariba Ward Golden Youth Empowerment Association
  5. Bogiakumu Ward Combined Youth Association
  6. Bomorenda Ward Youth Association
  7. Riana Ward Youth Enterprise Association

The MP affirmed the constituency’s dedication to collaborating with the State Department of MSMEs Development through MSEA and other state agencies to alleviate poverty and unemployment. He encouraged existing associations to harmonize their activities through the formation of a joint committee to oversee the management and operationalization of the common user facilities, pledging to sponsor youths for training in driving, plumbing, electrical, and tailoring through bursaries.

MSEA ADED, Muriithi Muriuki emphasized the Authority’s commitment to creating a conducive working environment to promote MSEs by equipping the CIDC. Kisii EDO Cliffe Agwata encouraged more collaboration between all actors to improve the livelihoods of MSEs in Bonchari, advocating for resources through CDF for infrastructure development in the CIDC to accommodate all existing associations.

The area Assistant County Commissioner, Marie Mugane emphasized the importance of proper management for the sustainability of the project and advocated for monitoring and evaluation to assess progress. She underscored the need for effective leadership for the welfare and security of the common user facilities.
